Murchison Falls First Look: Hike to Top of the Falls

• Upon reaching this point, prepare to be awestruck as you experience one of Africa's most spectacular natural wonders - where the mighty Nile River, the world's longest, is violently forced through a narrow 7-meter gorge before plunging 43 meters downward. The thunderous roar of "The Devil's Cauldron" will vibrate through your chest as millions of gallons of water crash through the rocky chasm every minute, sending up a permanent rainbowed mist that cools the surrounding air. The hike usually takes between 1 to 2 hours

  • Wear waterproof clothing - the powerful spray will leave you delightfully drenched
  • Secure cameras in waterproof cases for stunning close-up shots
  • Feel the rock tremble beneath your feet as you approach the viewing platforms
  • Watch for rainbows forming in the perpetual mist cloud

  Local Legend Says: The falls' original name "Murchison" honors a 19th century geologist, but locals call it "Nile's Wedding" - where the river marries the rocks in a never-ending ceremony of thunder and spray.

Afternoon Nile Boat Cruise

After the wonderful hike, head back to the vehicle for incoming boat cruise. After a short drive, reach the visitors center and checkin in for a boat cruise. This is always;

• 3-hour cruise to the Devil’s Cauldron

• Wildlife guaranteed:
   Hippo pods (closer than you’d imagine!)
   Nile crocodiles (some 5m long)
   Goliath herons & pied kingfishers fishing
   Elephants & buffalo drinking at water’s edge

• After this wonderfull activity, set back to the vehicle and head to the lodge. Arrive at the lodge

• Wake up for a wonderful breakfast before departure for a wonderful game drive. Packed lunch will be provided
